Before The Conferences While team leadership has a lot of preparation to do prior to the conference, an individual member of an MUN team who will be attending the conference has three major steps to take in order to prepare for the conference. First, they have to be assigned a country and committee spot. (This is the next section, Part IIIa.) Secondly, they have to research their country's position on their committee's topics. (This is Part IIIb.) And finally, they write a brief position paper outlining their country's goals for those topics. (This is Part IIIc.)
